Frequently Asked Questions

What is Plixlab?

Plixlab is a computational medium for interactive storytelling. It lets you create presentations with live code execution, 3D models, dynamic charts, molecular structures, and AI assistance — all in one place.

What can I put in a presentation?

Plixlab supports a wide range of interactive content:

How does the AI assistant work?

Plixlab includes an AI-powered assistant that can help you create slides, generate code, design layouts, and answer questions about your content. The AI can read your current presentation context to provide relevant suggestions. AI features are powered by Anthropic's Claude.

Is Plixlab free?

Yes. The Free plan includes everything you need to build computable presentations — the full canvas, code execution, and AI assistance with a monthly credit allotment. The Pro plan unlocks higher limits and public and private sharing. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time.

What are the plan limits?

There are two plans:

AI credits are consumed by the in-app AI assistant and refresh monthly. Driving Plixlab from your own Claude or ChatGPT subscription via MCP does not consume credits.

Can I share my presentations?

Yes. Depending on your plan, you can share presentations in different ways:

Shared presentations are always read-only for viewers. You can also embed presentations in other websites using an iframe.

Can I import a shared presentation?

Yes. When viewing a shared presentation, you can import it into your own account as a fully independent copy. All resources (images, models, datasets, notebooks) are duplicated so your copy has no dependency on the original.

Does code run in my browser?

Yes. Python runs via Pyodide (a WebAssembly build of CPython) and R runs via webR, both entirely in your browser. No server-side execution is involved, so your code and data stay on your machine.

What file formats are supported?

Can I use Plixlab with Zotero?

Yes. Plixlab integrates with Zotero for citation management. Connect your Zotero account to access your library and insert citations directly into your presentations.

Is my data secure?

All connections use HTTPS. Authentication is handled by Clerk with industry-standard security. Files are stored in Convex's managed storage. Code execution happens entirely in your browser. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete individual presentations and their data at any time from the app. To delete your entire account, open your account menu in the app, choose Manage account → Security → Delete account. All of your data — presentations, pipelines, datasets, and uploaded files — is removed automatically. If you run into any trouble, contact us at contact@plixlab.com.
