These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Plixlab ("we," "us," or "our"), operated at plixlab.com. By creating an account or using Plixlab, you agree to these Terms.
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 16 years old to use Plixlab (or 13 in the United States, with parental consent where required by law).
You agree not to:
Plixlab offers Free, Pro, and Pro Max plans with different limits on presentations, storage, and AI token usage. Plan features and pricing are as described on our pricing page and may change with notice. If you exceed your plan limits, certain features may be restricted until you upgrade or the next billing period begins.
Ownership. You retain all rights to the content you create on Plixlab, including presentations, slides, uploaded files, and datasets.
License to Us. By using Plixlab, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, display, and transmit your content as necessary to provide the service. This includes sending content to third-party AI services (Anthropic) when you use AI features, and making content available to viewers when you enable sharing.
Responsibility. You are solely responsible for the content you create and share. Publicly shared or embedded presentations are visible to anyone with the link.
Plixlab uses AI (powered by Anthropic's Claude) to assist with slide generation, chat, and other features. AI-generated content may not always be accurate, complete, or appropriate. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated content before using or sharing it. We make no guarantees about the accuracy or suitability of AI outputs.
When you share a presentation publicly, anyone with the share link can view it without signing in. Embedded presentations can be displayed on external websites. You are responsible for ensuring that publicly shared content does not violate these Terms or any applicable laws. We may disable sharing for content that violates these Terms.
Plixlab integrates with third-party services such as Zotero (citations), external data APIs, and Anthropic (AI). These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.
The Plixlab service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Plixlab service itself.
Your use of Plixlab is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. By using the service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You have rights including access, rectification, erasure, and data portability as described in our Privacy Policy.
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your personal information.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or use the service in a way that harms other users or the platform. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy, except where retention is required by law.
Plixlab is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that all features will be available at all times. This disclaimer does not affect any statutory rights that cannot be waived or limited under applicable law, including EU consumer protection laws.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plixlab and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or interruption of service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for (a) death or personal injury caused by negligence, (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or (c) any other liability that cannot be excluded by applicable law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. If you are a consumer in the EEA or UK, you retain the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
Any disputes arising from these Terms that cannot be resolved informally will be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court. EU and UK consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email and by posting the updated Terms on this page at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of Plixlab after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you may close your account.
